Ana Isabel Gómez Pérez

Ana Isabel Gómez Pérez is a Telecommunications Engineer and PhD in Science and Technology with extensive experience in the field of Cybersecurity in Communication Technologies. Her professional experience spans several years, in which she has worked in different public and private organizations, including the prestigious Institute of Microelectronics of Seville and has collaborated with renowned companies in the sector such as Tedesys and Berten.

Ana Isabel has actively participated in international projects as a researcher and has published and presented more than 10 papers in national and international conferences on Security in communication protocols. She has also collaborated in the organization of several scientific events, which shows her commitment and passion for scientific dissemination.

Jesús Abascal

Jesús Abascal is a cybersecurity expert with extensive work experience as CISO and ERP Manager at ClarkeModet, where he manages the Information Security Management System. In addition, he has performed risk management, KPI’s, KRI’s and PDCA tasks. He has also performed pentesting audits, cybersecurity awareness, SIEM report review and deployment of new projects.

Jesús has a master’s degree in cybersecurity from Universidad Complutense and several certifications in cybersecurity, such as ISO 27001:2013 Internal Auditor, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Power Platform, EC Council Certified Ethical Hacker and SION Certified Lead Auditor.

David García Villaescusa

External university professor

David García Villaescusa is a Computer Engineer and PhD in Science and Technology from the University of Cantabria. Currently, he works as a cybersecurity researcher at IKERLAN carrying out research on European projects and private clients. Some of his latest projects have consisted of the securitization of OTASU updates for the railway and automotive sector, analysis and proposals for the securitization of software development life cycles in accordance with the IEC 62443 standard, integration into real-time systems of cybersecurity functions and securitization of embedded elements with connectivity.

Diego García Saiz

ASSOCIATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR

Diego García Saiz is Assistant Professor PhD, accredited to Associate Professor,  in the Software Engineering and Real-Time Group of the Department of Computer and Electronic Engineering. He is awarded with the six-year productivity bonus for research merits (2019). He obtained his doctorate CUM LAUDE in 2016. His research interests are in the areas of Data Science and Software Engineering. He has done research stays at the University of Cordoba and at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support in Porto. He has 12 publications in high impact journals, 3 book chapters and more than 30 papers published in conference proceedings (several with A rating in the CORE classification). He has participated or participates as a researcher in several national and European competitive projects,   collaborative projects with companies and other external entities, and he is a member of several Program Committees of prestigious international conferences. As for his teaching work, he lectures a great range of subjects in the areas of Data Science,  Management and Software Engineering at different university degrees and masters, being responsible for several of them and having experience in teaching 15 different subjects with more than 1200 hours accumulated. He is a member of the Governance Group of the Faculty of Sciences as Postgraduate and Internationalization Coordinator.

Domingo Gómez Pérez

FULL UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR

Domingo Gómez-Pérez received his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Sciences in 2006, from the University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain. He has been a visiting academic in different research centers, including the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM), Macquarie University, University of New South Wales and Royal Holloway, University of London. Currently, he is full professor in the Universidad de Cantabria and his research interests include cryptography, sequences, finite fields and quasi-monte carlo methods.

Esteban Stafford

ASSOCIATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR

Esteban Stafford graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Cantabria in 2001 and obtained a PhD in Computer Science in 2015. He worked for several years in companies in the ICT sector in Germany. He is currently a systems administrator at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Cantabria and an associate professor at the Dto. Computer and Electronic Engineering from the same university.

His research activities are developed inside the ATC research group in UNICAN.

Héctor Pérez Tijero

ASSOCIATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR

Héctor Pérez Tijero graduated in Telecommunications Engineering in the University of Cantabria in 2006. He finished his Master’s degree in Computing in 2008 and obtained a Doctorate in Science, Technology and Computing with an International distinction in 2012. He has more than 12 years of teaching experience in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is currently Contract Professor-Doctor in the Department of Computer and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cantabria.

Ibán Cabrillo Bartolome

FULL TIME RESEARCHER

Member of the RES council since 2017. Responsible for the IFCA advanced computing service since 2015. Technical manager of the Tier-2 CMS experiment since 2005. Responsible for ISO 27001 implementation. He holds a Phd. in science and technology, a Master’s degree in Computing and a Degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Cantabria. He is also a professor of the Official Master’s Degree in Data Science and Physics at the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP). He has participated in various national and EU projects such as Federated Tier-2 for Spain, CROSSGRID, EGEE-II/III and Int.Eu.Grid.

Aida Palacio Hoz

Aida Palacio Hoz is a Computer Engineer graduated from the University of Cantabria in 2018. She has been working since 2015 as a systems administrator at the IFCA computing service. Expert in the support and maintenance of the UC Altamira supercomputing service and the IFCA Cloud computing cluster. Aida has several certifications in cybersecurity such as ISO 27001 and the Spanish National Security Scheme. Within her research activity, she is currently pursuing a PhD in Science and Technology and participating in numerous national and European projects such as AI4EOSC, iMagine or EGI Fedcloud. She is also a lecturer in the Master’s Degree in Data Science and in Particle and Cosmos Physics.

Iñigo Claramunt González

Chemical Engineer from the University of Cantabria. Security Director, specialized in Critical Infrastructures, from the Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute (UNED), accredited by the Ministry of the Interior. He has served as Security and Liaison Manager and director of 112 Cantabria, a Critical Infrastructure in the Public Sector of Spain declared by the Secretary of State for Security. He has collaborated with the National Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (CNPIC). Additionally, he has been the director of the Regional School of Local Police of Cantabria and a member of the Coordination Committee of Local Police of Cantabria. Moreover, he has worked as a researcher at the Cantabria Institute of Hydraulics and as a professor at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineers of the University of Cantabria.

Jorge Bermúdez

Prosecutor of the 46th Promotion (2006), graduate in Law from the University of Deusto. Delegate of Cybercrime at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Gipuzkoa. Member of the Support Unit of the State Prosecutor’s Office. Co-author of ‘Investigación Tecnológica y Derechos Fundamentales’ and ‘Memento Experto en Ciberseguridad.’ Speaker at cybersecurity events such as RootedCON, C1b3rWall, and Sec/Admin. Professor in the Master’s in Cybercrime at Nebrija University. Professor of the subject ‘Potestad Sancionadora y Estado de Derecho’ at the Faculty of Law of the University of Deusto. Representative of the State Prosecutor’s Office in collaborative activities with the Judicial School of the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, the Academy of European Law, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), and the Program of Assistance against Transnational Organized Crime, PAcCTO, in Quito (Ecuador) and Panama.
