University Diploma of Specialization in Cybersecurity

Systems and Networks

Do you want to start a career in cybersecurity?

Well, we have good news and bad

Bad

We won’t lie to you: an expert in cybersecurity possesses a deep understanding of a wide range of interconnected aspects, including computer science, communications, the business world, and why not? global geopolitics, psychology and law. Moreover, it’s not enough to have superficial knowledge; one must master everything from the most basic concepts to the finest details. Acquiring this expertise is a task that demands many years of training, facing challenges in various disciplines, and staying up-to-date with the latest news.

Good

If you want to make a place for yourself in the world of cybersecurity, save yourself a few years of effort by completing this University Diploma in Cybersecurity. In it, we compile the knowledge of various experts in different fields to offer you a structured curriculum to help you swiftly acquiring advanced cybersecurity concepts.

The diploma spans a broad spectrum of disciplines, ranging from cryptography to social engineering and from machine code to application design.

Audience

  • Career Changers: Those seeking to shift their professional trajectory toward cybersecurity.
  • Bachelor’s, Graduates, or Master’s Degree Holders: Initially preferring candidates from ICT (Information and Communication Technology) engineering backgrounds, but open to those with notable computer skills.
  • Final-Year Students: applicable to both undergraduate and master’s degree programs, according to the regulations of the Universidad de Cantabria.
  • Active professionals seeking to learn cybersecurity to apply it to their jobs.

How is it organised?

Our Cybersecurity Microcredential Program is designed to provide comprehensive training in the most critical areas of cybersecurity through six specialized modules. Each microcredential is a key component that will enable you to develop specific skills and prepare you to face current and future challenges in the field of digital security.

  1. Basic cybersecurity fundamentals
  2.  Cybersecurity technical foundations
  3. Ethical Hacking
  4. Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR)
  5. Cyber Threat Intelligence
  6. DevSecOps

Testimonials from former students

Marcos Cobo Carrillo:
“Enrolling in the cybersecurity expert course has been a great decision. In this course, I was able to delve into areas such as cryptography, threat identification, exploitation, and risk management, among others. The practical focus of the course allowed me to apply what I learned to real-life situations, which gave me the confidence to implement security measures in my job. Although some topics were challenging, the constant support from the professors made learning easier. Without a doubt, the course has improved the security approach in all my projects, and that’s why I recommend this course to any professional looking to strengthen their cybersecurity knowledge.”

¡Second microcredential in planning!

Once the fundamental knowledge in cybersecurity has been acquired through the first microcredential, this module will enable students to delve deeper into the more technical aspects of the field. To this end, essential programming skills in Python will be introduced, equipping students to utilize external libraries, develop basic algorithms, and work with structures such as data frames. Additionally, the module will cover database management using SQL and the use of Shell or Bash commands, facilitating task automation. Finally, students will be able to employ fundamental cybersecurity tools and create Docker containers, skills that are essential in today’s technical and professional environments.

The modules covered in this microcredential course are:

  1. Python
  2. SQL Programming
  3. Bash Scripting
  4. Docker Containers
  5. Communication Protocols
  6. Final Project
